“Little Al” is a seasoned guide at Three Forks Ranch. Originally from Montrose, Colorado, Al holds the Brown Trout record at 30 lbs., 8oz. He has been fishing since he was five and has instilled his own love of the outdoors in his three children. In the fall, you’ll find him leading our hunting guests into the woods, in search of deer, elk and antelope.

Brian has been fly fishing since the age of three. Raised in Maine and Vermont, he literally grew up on the Battenkill and has traveled the world perfecting his trade. Brian has been guiding professionally since the age of thirteen. His favorite fishing partner has always been his dad, and the two have literally helped shape the course of fly fishing as a sport. Brian trades his fishing gear for camouflage in the fall to serve as one of our most skilled hunting guides. In the spring, he can be found sugaring in Vermont and spending time with his family in Maine at their hunting camp.

Hailing from the suburbs of Centennial, Wyoming, Curt is a 4th Generation Wyomingite that has spent his entire life in the mountains hunting, fishing, and playing. He took up guiding early on because he realized that he was too lazy to work and too scared to steal. When not in the timber or floating a river you will find Curt and his dogs pursuing his favorite hobbies of wood working and photography.

Dave is entering his ninth season as a Three Forks Ranch guide. Originally from Tennessee, his passion for the great outdoors led him west sixteen years ago when he moved to Colorado. Dave is truly a student of the fly fishing game. During the summer, his vast knowledge of trout, insects, water, equipment and technique make him an excellent teacher and coach. In the Fall, he guides hunts and takes advantage of as many outdoor activities as possible.

Gary joins us for his eighth season as a fly fishing guide but has been fishing in the Yampa Valley since he moved to Three Forks Ranch more than twenty years ago. When he’s away from water, which isn’t often, Gary coaches the winter biathlon team for the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club. When he’s not at the Ranch, Gary loves to spend time with his family camping, hiking and skiing.

Jeremiah (“J-Waugh”) grew up in the Black Hills of northeast Wyoming on his family’s ranch. A passionate outdoorsman, Jeremiah guides not only our fishing guests during the summer but also our hunting guests in the fall. His easy going nature makes Jeremiah an easy companion for guests exploring the Ranch.

Three Forks Ranch welcomes Kelly back for his fifth season as a fishing guide. A Colorado native, Kelly began fishing and hunting with his father at a very young age. His home river is the Gunnison, which most anglers agree is quite a challenge to fish. In the fall, Kelly, like many of our guides, puts on his camouflage and helps our hunting guests find their big bull elk, elusive mules or speedy antelope.
