LEVI’S A STAR!

deer hunt
Riding to the rescue, LEVI KEMPF! Three Forks Ranch own Recreational Manager
takes his first big step towards stardom.

Keith Warren of Outdoor Channel fame and long-time Three Forks friend had
an unforeseen Elk hunt cancellation in Montana that left him in a bind during
a busy production season. He had to get a hunt show in the can.

He called us for help and we set to work figuring out what we could come up
with that would fit into Keith’s timeframe.

Luckily, Levi had drawn a Ranching for Wildlife Mule Deer tag for Three Forks
Ranch! He graciously invited Keith to follow with his cameras on this exciting
hunt.

The result: An action packed hunt, a fantastic deer, relief for Keith and
STARDOM for Levi.

As a bonus during his time at Three Forks, Keith was able to film an exciting
archery antelope hunt. Using decoys and lots of belly crawling, Keith and guide
Chad Schiermeier bagged a nice Pronghorn Antelope buck.

Watch the Outdoor Channel schedule this spring for “Hunting with Keith
Warren” to see this thrilling hunt with Levi in his television debut.

Monster Trout Swallows Angler

Well, ok. Maybe not, but we have to sell papers somehow.

Perhaps the headline should read “Monster Trout Swallows Anglers Dry
Fly!”. WHAT A SEASON!

With an early spring run off that cleared the water earlier than normal, June
and July were off the charts. Hungry trout were hitting anything that moved!

Crystal clear water provided an amazing sight fishing experience for our dry-fly
aficionados.

As we go to press October 8th, water is up, temperatures have cooled and drys,
nymphs and streamers are all working.

YOU SHOULD BE HERE!

Make your reservations now for 2008 September and October fly-fishing .

“Tomorrowis the most important thing in life.
Comes into us at midnight very clean.
It’s perfect when it arrives and puts itself in our hands.
It hopes we’ve learned something from yesterday.”
- John Wayne

Is it in the Water?

Diapers, bottles, midnight feedings? It’s time to introduce Three Forks
newest and littlest staff members! Cyrus Roberts Flaherty born August 23rd
, 2007 and Alexandra Caroline Pratt born March 30, 2007.

Both little ones are doing beautifully and spend as much time as they can
making sure that their parents understand the meaning of the phrase ‘sleepless
nights’.

The appearance of the these two also means that it won’t be long before
we’ll need to paint one of the Ford Excursions yellow and dub it the
Three Forks School Bus. Everybody sing, ‘the wheels on the bus go round
and round…’.

The new staffers are still deciding on what their rolls will be on the ranch.
Alexa is already considering the prestigious honor of being Three Fork’s
first female hunting guide. She takes after her mother in that she has the
lung capacity perfect for calling elk.

Justin hasn’t mentioned what he and Cy have planned. We suspect he has
already begun clandestine evening meetings plotting a coup d’état
and grooming Cy to be the next Assistant General Manager.

We’ll give them a little time to decide on their future. The present
however will be filled with lots of love and attention from their parents and
everyone on the ranch.

Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Mark your calendar: December 15, 2008 is the date to remember. This will be
the opening of fantastic new recreational opportunities at Three Forks Ranch.

Join us for Christmas inside the new lodge and spa. Highlighting the winter
activities will be cross country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and if you
like, downhill skiing in Steamboat.

Imagine yourself taking a horse drawn sleigh ride. Dog sled tours are also
on the horizon. (How cool is that?!)

Complimenting these activities will be our full service Roaring Fork Spa.
Massages, hot pools and relaxing body treatments will renew the body and warm
the spirit.

Three Forks Staff in depth: Marc LeDuc

Born and raised in Naperville, IL, Marc knew at the age of 5 or 6 years old
he wanted to be a chef. When he wasn’t dreaming of the culinary arts
he was playing and excelling in sports. Boxing, Soccer and Lacrosse were his
main focus.

So much so that by the time he got to high school, the whole family picked
up and moved to Columbus, OH to enroll him in a high school that had a elevated
sports scholarship ratio.

The move paid off and he landed a sweet partial lacrosse scholarship to Cornell
where he majored in Hotel & Restaurant Management. He finished his education
at Johnson and Wales Culinary Arts School.

Since his completion of culinary arts school he’s done some amazing
things. Among them are opening a restaurant named Asolare on the Caribbean
island of St. John and an externship at the famous Napa Valley restaurant,
The French Laundry.

Being wide open in his approach to cooking, Marc enjoys using exotic ingredients
and regional foods. New ideas, seasonings, creative food pairings are part
of what make his food experience so unique.

The new Lodge has him very excited. He’s been in on the process since
the design stage and has built his new kitchen from the ground up.

He feels the first operational year is filled with potential and promise and
is crucial to the years to come.

Ideas for menus and guest involvement fill his head. Wine pairings, possible
guest cooking classes twice a week are in the forefront of possibilities.

Thirty years have gone by since that young boy made the decision to be a chef.
He still loves the culinary arts, creating incredible flavor experiences and
is a fundamental part of what makes Three Forks Ranch so exceptional.

New Lodge and Spa Facility moves into home stretch

The vocabulary around the construction site has changed dramatically. No longer
do we hear terms like ‘framing’, ‘trusses’, ‘perlines’, ‘rebar’ and ‘cement’.
No longer do we hear the noise associated with nail guns, cement trucks and
saws.

We’re moving into the home stretch and the vocabulary now includes American
cherry paneling, silk-linen wall paper and crème de marfil tile.

The dream is moving full steam ahead into reality. Completion will occur in
March with a June 1st, 2008 opening.

Three Forks Ranch Lodge and Spa will make an impressive architectural statement
while complimenting the grand Sierra Madre Mountains that surround it.

There are ‘WOW’ factors at every turn. Hand carved European paneling
and fireplaces, massive stone columns, towering cathedral ceilings supported
by huge Douglas Fir trusses, expansive flagstone decks and soothing massage
treatment rooms. Water is everywhere. You’ll see spectacular waterfalls,
bubbling streams and grotto pools.

We’re looking forward to having you book your stay. Our reservation
staff will work hard to include you in our inaugural season.

Here’s to a incredible new adventure!
