Dan Whitmus Dan grew up in Central Washington and he started elk hunting in 1983. After his first hunt, his animal calling obsession began. To further a career in hunting, Dan moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho in 1999, and soon after started guiding hunters. He came to Three Forks Ranch after winning the World Elk Calling Championship in 2004. Dan claimed the championship again in 2006.
