GRAZING LEASES
Three Forks Ranch lies on the Colorado/Wyoming border, 35 miles east of Baggs, Wyoming and 40 miles north and west of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. 50,000 acres are in the mountain country of northwest Colorado. The elevation at the ranch is 7200 feet. This is a wet climate, with excellent grass. During the recent grazing seasons surrounding areas were very dry and short of grass. Three Forks Ranch was fully stocked and the grass maintained very well. The ranch is well cross-fenced and watered. Our present grazing capacity in Colorado is 5000 head of yearlings for a period of May 15 to October 1. 500 weight calves will gain nearly 2 lbs per head each day.
The Wyoming portion of the ranch sets between Baggs and Rawlins. This is also the country we run our cow-calf operation. We reserve 40,000 acres of pasture for our 1800 head yearling, grass-lease operation. This is short/hard grass country that is very high protein and produces excellent gains. The pastures are well cross-fenced and well watered. This portion of the ranch also has excellent cattle handling facilities. Three Forks Ranch is one of the few operations that can handle this large a volume of cattle in one operation, in one location. This coupled with excellent grass, water, facilities, and crew, makes Three Forks Ranch the premier grass ranch in northern Colorado and southern Wyoming. If you are interested in seeing us in operation, please call and we would be glad to show you the ranch.
